National Library Week 2025

It’s National Library Week! Come into the Flagstaff City – Coconino County Public Libraries to celebrate the incredible contributions libraries and their hard-working staff make every day. During National Library Week, we recognize all of the contributions from the Libraries that serve our fantastic Flagstaff community. It is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening their communities.
This year’s National Library Week theme is “Drawn to the Library”! Millions of people in the USA visit libraries every day. So, what’s the draw? Everything.
Libraries serve populations of all ages, races, and walks of life. In our Flagstaff libraries, we offer Senior Book Club, Lego Club for all ages, story times for toddlers and babies, Dungeons and Dragons for Teens, and so much more. Our programs are a direct reflection of the populations that we serve, and what their needs are.
When you visit a library, you are visiting a facility that contains the most unique setting one could imagine. In one corner, a mother reads a book to her child. In another corner, a group of adults meet to discuss the book they are reading together. Patrons hop on computers, not only to surf the web, but to apply for jobs and more professional opportunities. “Chart your next literary adventure by browsing the stacks or joining a book club. Let an author color your imagination at an author talk, outline your big business idea at an entrepreneur workshop, or trace your history with your library’s genealogy resources. Make your mark and get involved with your library by volunteering or spreading the word” (ALA 2025).
