Collection

The public library system serves residents and visitors of the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County. The physical library collection includes: books, magazines and other periodicals, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, as well as many other materials, held at the Main Library, East Flagstaff Community (Branch) Library, County Bookmobile, and PALSmobile.

Community

Located at 7,000 feet elevation, Flagstaff is the county seat and the regional center of northern Arizona. Flagstaff is a community rich with cultural diversity and beauty. It is home to Northern Arizona University, Coconino Community College, Lowell Observatory, where the planet Pluto was discovered, and the Museum of Northern Arizona. Nearby scenic attractions include: Grand Canyon National Park, Sunset Crater, Wupatki, and Walnut Canyon National Monuments, and the Arboretum at Flagstaff. The area also borders the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations. Major sources of employment are tourism, government, and education.
